Safeguarding Children and Young People for Foster Carers

Safeguarding is central and key to the work of a foster carer!  Indeed, statistics demonstrate that over two thirds of children in care have been abused or harmed.  This 4 hour interactive and engaging course offers vital learning for all foster carers whether they are new to the profession or want to refresh their knowledge.  Carers will explore the many signs and indicators associated to the different types of abuse and harm and learn about the increased vulnerability of their children and young people to certain types. Confidence will be raised around recording and reporting disclosures and suspicions. Carers will appreciate the importance of partnership working and the huge benefits that this can present for a child or young person.
